I just noticed that different events with the same title such as "Juried Art Show" on my calendar are showing up as multiple day events. They are separate events with different content, but they are displatyed as one event with two separate dates to select. This is not good. If a browser is not interested in the first event, he/she will never see the other event because they would assume that the two separate dates are for the same event. So they would never select the second date. Here is my calendar. You can see what I mean there: http://asingularcrea...rt-contests.htm

thanks,
Joe

I just experimented with different templates. It works fine on list view. Performance view is the one that I was describing in the first post.

Hi Joe,
I'm glad you figured out what was causing the display behavior you didn't want. Thanks for your followup!

This brings up my fondest wish - oh how I wish the performance template would let me group by custom dates, the same as other calendars. Performance template could be used for all kinds of things (like a semester long list of classes and workshops), allowing you to display the description once, along with a list of all of the class in a class series.

However, since you can't group by custom date, you cannot show A list of all classes that are being or have been offered during the semester an easy, obvious fashion. A person would have to realize that they need to click the previous button to see what was offered earlier in the semester. Even if they do that, the date span headings are misleading - they show only the range of dates for the classes on that page, not the full range of dates that the class is being offered for. You also can't easily and obviously demonstrate the fact that although there are two class sessions listed on the calendar today today for a particular class, it's actually the middle of the semester and the classes started in September.

Here's an example on a page that's not being used: www.concorduu.org/adult2.htm

(I had to create an elaborate workaround using separate calendar that lists only the first class in the series):

www.concorduu.org:/adult.htm

Would love to see this addressed in the future:
1. Don't automatically (and irrevocably) group the performance template by location and
2. Allow user to group the same way other calendars can be grouped - especially by custom date.

Hi Lorraine, thanks (again) :) for your details about what you're looking for. It's on the feature request list.

Since it's nearly time to post my next semester of classes, I'm wondering if there's been any progress on this item?

1. Don't automatically (and irrevocably) group the performance template by location (or notes!) and
2. Allow user to group the same way other calendars can be grouped - especially by custom date.

If I had to choose, #2 would be more important to me.

Thanks.
