Hi,

I'm sure you guys have answered this before, but I can't find the right topic if you have. I've run out of colors for my sub-calendars! I want more choices than I have in the dropdown menu when I add a new calendar or edit the settings of an existing one. I'm fine with finding my own hex codes if there is a way to customize. Can you guys help?

Gotta say that I'm happy that I have a year to build a case for the $1200/year. Our company *loves* this calendar, I love how customizable it is (especially if I can do more colors :-) ) and I'm hoping that we'll be able to keep it after the price goes up.

Thanks!!
Sara

Hi Sara,
I'm glad you like Trumba and hope you can stick with us, too! About your question, in the calendar editing environment, there actually isn't a way (yet) to add more colors. However, when you publish, you can use whatever colors you want, and they don't need to be the same as what's in the editing environment. (You can edit them by clicking the Edit Calendar Colors button in the Publishing Control Panel.)

Our developers are currently working on making the colors in the editing environment display the colors you use for the published calendar. That should make it easier to keep the colors straight between published view and editable view. I hope that helps?

Hi Jill,

I'm just seeing that you replied - I never got the notification. Thanks! So, you're saying, for instance, that in the published calendar I could make someone's background color #ffcc33 and then it will (when your developers get this in place) show up as the calendar color both in the editing environment and on the published calendar, right? And that it will be the background color for that calendar's events, as well as the color in the calendar menu on the left?

Thanks so much for helping me understand!
Sara

Hi Sara,
I'm sorry you didn't get notified, and it's good to see you back! I have to admit I've never used the notification settings, but if you want to look into why you didn't get notified, I'm happy to help. There's some info in the forum software Help in case that helps. If you tried everything listed there, I wonder if the mail got stuck in your junk folder? Let me know if you want me to test it out from here (our forums are hosted by another company, so we would have the same experience as our customers with this kind of stuff).

Well, all that to say that your understanding of the color changes is exactly what the plan is. : ) I still don't know when exactly this is planned to be released, but I'll check in with development tomorrow morning. I might not be able to post an update tomorrow, but I'll be back next week if dev gives me any news to pass along. Til then, hope you enjoy your weekend!

Thanks Jill! I didn't receive the notification on this one, either. Very strange. It didn't get caught in my spam folder, so I'm not sure what's happening. I like the function and look of this message board so much, I'm looking into moving our online community to this system - so I may just bring it up with the sales people next week :-) But if you figure anything out about the message notification, I'd be interested in hearing that, too.

I'll just sit tight on the colors and hope for good news soon! We're squeaking by with the current editing environment choices, but we're a growing company, so I'm looking forward to looking through my hex code index and finding some new ones!

Thanks again and have a great weekend,
Sara

Hi Sara,
I was able to get some email notification from the forums by tracking a topic. With a topic open, I clicked the down arrow by Options (up in the top right corner), and tracking was one of the options. When you select it, you get a choice of how you want to track. I think I chose Immediate Email Notification. I didn't have to change any email settings in the My Controls page.

I hope that helps, but I bet that's what you already tried, huh? Let me know -- I could try using the forum features for (manually) sending you an email to see if it gets through.

Hi Jill,

That actually wasn't how I did it - but when I tried that, it gave me an error and said I was already subscribed to that topic. Very weird. I only stumbled onto your reply as I was investigating more to decide whether I want to move our forums to this system. It still says that I'm subscribed at the bottom. I'm going to try to unsubscribe and resubscribe in this topic and see if that helps.

Thanks!
Sara

Hi Trumba,

Can you give an estimate as to when this update might be accomplished?

Thanks again for all you do.

We do receive an overwhelming number of feature requests each day from our clients and we try our best to evaluate and prioritize the features that will enhance the product for the majority of our customer base. Unfortunately we do not provide a release date for the various product enhancements.
Thanks,
Steve
