I use an upcoming events promotion spud on the home page of our site. It is set to display 5 events starting with current day + 180 days.
My question is the spud is displaying but the events are not in descending order by date, they are just all jumbled up. Am I missing something?
Thank you for any assistance.

Why is promotion spud not listing events in order?

Hi jland,
I think I've seen this before in some cases if you have multi-day events and set the spud to display events that started in the past. Does this sound like it could be the case? The setting is in the Publishing Control Panel, on the Styles & Settings page for the spud. If the box is checked, do the events appear jumbled if you uncheck that box?
If you want, if the path above don't seem to lead to anything, you can email or PM me the URL of your site (or just post it here), and I can take a closer look. Email is support at corp.trumba.com, and you can make it to my attention.

Hey Jill,
I did check my settings and I did not have the box checked to display events that started in the past. This spud is actually on a new website design I'm working on - not yet our official home page. Here is the link: http://www.infodepot.org/index8.asp
Today is doesn't look so jumbled because we have so many programs happening on one day... but they are jumbled nonetheless.
Our current home page never jumbles and it is set the same way except it displays 7 events at a time instead of just 5 and I changed a few colors and fonts on the upcoming new design.

Thanks for any help, I appreciate it!

Hi jland,
Thanks for your detailed info! I'm afraid I'm having trouble getting to your site today. I'll try again tomorrow morning and let you know what I find out. I will be able to tell when I see the site, but in case I continue to have trouble, is the new page you're working on using a spud from the same published calendar that the current page is using? Also, when you preview the troublemaker spud in your publishing control panel, does it display the same way that it does on the new web page?
Sorry I can't give you more info at the moment, I'll try again tomorrow!

Hi again, jland,
I can see what's happening now. The new site is using the Upcoming Grouped spud, and the current site is using the regular Upcoming Events spud. The Upcoming Grouped spud groups events by description and location rather than by date. So it looks like it's displaying the events in alphabetical order on your new page.
If you want them to be displayed by date, you could try using the same Upcoming Events spud that the current site is using. I'm sorry that would mean that you'll have to copy all your new style settings over, too. (I always take a screen shot of the styles page, copy it into a document, and print it when I have to do stuff like that. If you don't have a screen capture tool but want to do this, let me know, and I can email the image to you.)

Hey Jill -
That solved my problem... I just misunderstood the difference in the grouped and the original spud I was using. Thanks again for all of your help!
