What would be the recommended way to generate an entry from a web application?
We already have a web application that we would like to generate calender entries from.
It is possible to screen scrape through the trumba web gui to put an entry in, but you must have
a better way to do it.
Any suggestions?

Hi-
If you have existing events in other programs that you want to import into Trumba®, you can import the event information in the following file formats:
iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar (.vcs)
Comma separated values (.csv) or tab delimited (.txt) text files
Microsoft® Excel worksheet (.xls)
You can also import events in one of these formats from a Web URL.
If you want to import event data from a file, you first need to get the data from the other calendar program into one of the formats that Trumba supports. To do that, you export your calendar from the other program.
Take a look at this Help file that goes into more details on Importing Events from Other Calendar Programs. I would also recommend this Help topic on how to Retain custom field information in Calendars you import from other programs.
Thanks!
Steve

Yes I had read all of those documents and fully understand how to import from another calender.
That is not the problem that I have though.
The problem I have is how to do it automatically without someone having to go in and create the event or import some data.
We have a sign-up web site already. At some point the criteria for the course being scheduled is met. At that point we want it to show up in the schedule. So we want our program to automatically add it to a calender.
The only way I can see (I have read every forum message and every other document on your website) is to have the program emulate a human web user and work through logging in and creating an event. That is doable but complex and very brittle to your ui changing.
Do you have something more akin to a web service? Something where I can just throw up the username, password, calender name and a .vcs file in one web transaction and get it entered?
If not, you should certainly consider adding that feature.

We currently do not have this functionality, however I have submitted this to our development team for consideration as a future feature request.
Thanks again!
