Hello -

I've been having a problem with an event that is happening over a two month time period displaying properly in the upcoming fader list. I want the event to just display one time because there are other events that also need to cycle through. I want them to display one at a time in the spud. However, because I have the event dates set as 1/5/10-2/18/10, it wants to display the event for each day of the set including dates that have already passed. This then looks like the same event is running over and over and takes forever for the other events to display. If I change the settings to NOT include events from the past, then the event doesn't display at all even though it's dates run into the future.

I have the spud settings set to Start Date: Current Day and End Date: Current Day. I thought this would fix it to only recognized the event for a single day which would then only have it display once in a cycle. However, it is still reverting back to 1/5/10 and running each day in a cycle...

Does this make sense? How do I set this spud so that it only pulls the current days events and cycles those?

Thanks for any assistance.

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
Do you know if the event you have set up is an ongoing event or was it set up with a daily repeating pattern? What does work is for an event that spans a period of time, is to set the start date and end date and then set the event as an All Day event and then use the Notes field to outline the hours for the event, as the hours may be different on different days or not happening on one or more days. The setting “Include events that started in the past” Should be checked within the spud settings, as this will display the event one time in the fader promotion spud, stating the event is “Ongoing through Feb 18, 2010”.

You have the correct setting for the Start date and End date for the spud, however I may need to look at your account to determine if there is anything else going on. Please email me at support@trumba.com and just provide me your email address for your Trumba login, as well as the event title and calendar that owns the event and I can research this further for you.
Thanks,
Steve

I wanted to provide an update to anyone else who may be experiencing something similar. After looking at the settings for the Promotion Spud, there is a setting for "Events per page", which was set to 1. When the value is set to one this tells the spud to only show 1 event continuously. Since there is more than 1 event on the calendar that should be fading in and out on this spud, we increased this to 3. We could go higher depending on how many events you want the spud to "cycle" through. In addition to this setting, we also edited the Fader Settings for the "Events per group". The default was set to 5 and we changed this to 1, which tells the spud to only display 1 event at a time.
Thanks,
Steve
