Hi,

I would like to suggest, that the timeformat for a calendar is choosable between the AM/PM format and the 24h format. This is very helpful for international users, like central Europeans :D

Hi Martin,
Welcome to our forums! Thanks for your post, too. We receive many requests for international time and date formats from people using our product outside the US. It is definitely something we know is necessary and hope to be able to implement in the future. I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer right now.

I had corresponded with someone in the UK about this not too long ago about the same matter, and wanted to share a little more on the matter of Trumba OneCalendar for international users. As Jill mentioned, we are very aware of the issue, and unfortunately don't have any announced information to share at this time.

I am so sorry that we don't already offer DD/MM/YY and 24 hour time format in all Trumba components. Before we consider language versions, addressing this would be a critical milestone for us.

We are a US company that went from having our offering go from beta to a released product in 2005. There is a lot that we are doing as we scale up our systems and receive and respond to feedback from people using or interested in using Trumba OneCalendar. Even this early in our product cycle, because of being an online offering, we do have users from around the world. We have received enquires about or have published calendars in several languages including Italian, French, Spanish and Japanese. We also have people who are using Trumba calendars in a number of English speaking countries that don't use the American date format.

There's a lot of work that we have already done to make it possible to publish Trumba calendars that are meant for an international audience. There are several templates that are useable today. We have done and are continuing to do significant work on time zones. Though there's more to do in this area, to some extent import of data in the DD/MM/YY is possible today. We have also given the problem a good deal of thought knowing that it was a matter of "how soon" rather than "whether" this issue will need to be addressed.

We most definitely appreciate the continued interest from those outside the US. Martin, thank you!

Hi all

Just another vote for DD/MM/YY format to nudge it further up the wish/development list. As a quick measure, would it be possible to have a template that displays in this format when published. Something like the news template would be good but with the events in date order rather than newest first.

Just guessing that Trumba is in the background a database where date/time is stored in a field which is date/time-formatted (hopefully). So any change would not be database core-correlated, it would only be frontend correlated. And frontend adoptions are easy to implement, because they do not change the database. So it is easy to give a calendar the option how to behave in viewing date/time.

But I can be wrong...

Am I right in thinking that you have solved the problem of dd/mm/yyyy formatting now for European users? I have noticed now that when I open an event it now shows the long version of the date instead of mm/dd/yyyy. I cannot see anywhere now on our calendar where the date appears as mm/dd/yyyy. That is brilliant. Thank you!

We've done a few small things that make some of our published templates more useable for international users. We still have a ways to go with regard to international support. But, so glad to know that the little steps taken make your calendar useable for your audience.

Another request for non us date support - it does not have to be dd/mm/yyy just international dd mmm yyyy

Any chance of adding this support ?

Hi Pat,
We do plan to implement an international date format choice at some point, but unfortunately I still don't have a timeframe on when this might happen. I'm sorry I can't give more encouraging news. If I find out anything more, I'll post here.

I am using one of the templates now that displays the date in long format - so no confusion here in Australia.

But ... :D

Can you please alter the format of emails to say "May 6" instead of "5/6" which to our viewers looks like "Jun 5".

MMM DD format in the emails would completely solve all of my issues. This is a major issue for my organisation as we plan to use the email to approx 1000 subscribers every week.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll bring it to the attention of our developers and if we learn anything more, will post an update.

Anne, any chance of this happening this week? I am ready to subscribe but the date format in the email is unuseable for me, and will generate many complaints.
If not this week I will have to subscribe with another provider.
Regards

Kevin

Hi Anne. I was chatting with my business partner. It would be fantastic if we could choose email stemplates like the templates for the website. When would we be able to do this please?

I have noticed that the date format issue has been an issue for a very long time. Is this website still being supported? Whay has it taken so long to fix?

Hi Kevin,
I don't have a chance right now to give you all of your answers, but I wanted to check in to say that I will consult with development tomorrow to see if they have a timeframe for changing the date style in email. I know that they think it's a good idea, but again, not sure yet when it might happen. I will be back tomorrow with more info. Sorry for the delay!

Hi again, Kevin,
One of our developers has changed the date style for email messages. The change is currently in testing, and we expect it to be available soon, hopefully this week or next.

Regarding being able to choose different templates for email, this is the first request for this that I've seen, and it sounds like it would be a nice feature. However, right now the only promise I can make is that I'll log it as a feature request. I'm not able to offer a timeframe as to when it might be available. I appreciate your suggestion, though, and hope that the date style change helps in the meantime.

Thanks Jill. That is great news. I'll be signing up straight away : ) I'll keep the suggestions coming. On the format options for email, is it possible to have a logo inserted in there? It would REALLY help with our branding if we could do that, and avoid any potential SPAM reactions by our clients.

Hi Kevin,
I'm glad this will work for you! I have added your request for the logo to the other feature log about choosing email templates. That's a good idea, too.

Hi Jill, Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to the design team for the date change to emails. Its awesome, and I have signed up for a year.

There is one more date feature change I'd love to see made to make my life so much easier.

When I log into my Calendar to edit, I use the following menu: View: Day | 3 Day | Week | 5 Week | Month | Year | List

The List view is in USA date format. Can you alter this to either DDMMMYY (14JAN06) or similar to the emails?

Regards

Kevin

(Keep up the great work!)

Hi Kevin,
Thanks so much for your kind words. I will be happy to pass them along. I will also let development know about this other view issue. Glad you signed up for a year, and keep visiting us here!

Hi Jill, any news on having the list view "tweaked" to be like the email view?

It would really solve this issue for us "International" users : ) (Cant get anything right can we.... we even drive on the wrong side of the road :))
