I'm asking on behalf of a client that would like to share their Outlook Calendar with me (an iCall user). Forgive the basic questions, but since I don't use Outlook, I want to be very clear:
1) With the free version, they can only manually publish a Trumba calendar to a web page of their choosing. There is no automatic publish, and no sync with Outlook, correct?
2) With the pro version, they can sync a Trumba calendar with their Outlook calendar. Can this be done automatically as they enter events in Outlook?
3) Can the pro version automatically (or periodically) publish the Trumba calendar to the webpage?
In short, we looking to see if Trumba can simply act as a background pass-through to publish the client's Outlook calendar to the web. In other words, can Trumba work in the background, requiring zero manual input in this case (after initial setup, of course)?
Thanks!

Hi borting,
Thanks for posting your questions and considering Trumba as part of your workflow.
1) With the free version, they can only manually publish a Trumba calendar to a web page of their choosing. There is no automatic publish, and no sync with Outlook, correct?
Almost. You do have to initially publish the calendar from Trumba using a wizard, but once you publish your Trumba calendar to the Web, changes you make automatically appear on the published version. This applies to both the free and Pro versions. You are correct saying that the free version does not include the tool for synchronizing with Outlook.
2) With the pro version, they can sync a Trumba calendar with their Outlook calendar. Can this be done automatically as they enter events in Outlook?
Yes. Once your calendars are mapped, you can set to sync automatically by time period or Outlook folder change. I'll just add that it goes two way, so any changes in Trumba will get synched to Outlook and vice-versa. After the events are synched from Outlook to Trumba, if the Trumba calendar is published, the changes also appear on the published calendar.
3) Can the pro version automatically (or periodically) publish the Trumba calendar to the webpage?
Initially, you do have to go through the Trumba publishing wizard to get the calendar to the Web, and then possibly embed it into the client's own website. After that's set up, changes appear automatically on the published version.
can Trumba work in the background, requiring zero manual input in this case (after initial setup, of course)?
Based on what you described, this could be done if you set up the Outlook synchronization. The initial setup would involve:
Downloading CalendarSync (our sync tool available with the Pro version).
Configuring CalendarSync to synchronize the appropriate Outlook calendar with a calendar in Trumba that you create for this (you can create the calendar from within CalendarSync).
Selecting the automatic sync interval.
From there, when the client opens Outlook, CalendarSync starts with it, and they sign in using the Trumba sign-in email address and password.
Let me know if I can answer any other questions. Good luck!
