While defining custom fields and adding new event types, is it possible to delete event types that are built-in? The majority of event types we want to be using we will make on our own, and don't see the need to keep all of the built-in types on the list.

Hi UPS,
Right now we're not able to delete the built-in fields or types. We have logged a feature request, though, and I'll add your vote to it. I agree that it'd be nice to be able to do this.

Hi Evan,
Thanks for bumping this up. I haven't heard anything about this recently, so I think I will re-submit the feature request. I'm sorry to not have more promising news about it.

Hello interested parties,
You can hide pre-defined event types now. To do so, open the Calendar Settings page and in the Event Types section, clear the Show predefined checkbox. The only event types that will then show in the event form are Standard Event and your custom types, except for existing events that might've used other pre-defined types.
At the moment it's all or nothin'. You can't select which individual pre-defined event types to show and which to hide, or to set a pre-defined type as the default and then turn off the rest. However, if you want to do either of these things, you can create a copy of the pre-defined event types you want, which will then become custom types that will appear on the event-type list when you're creating/editing an event.
