Hi If you create a calendar that contains the advocacy days meeting events, you can send out a one-time or scheduled calendar email message that contains all future or some time period's worth (for example, 2 weeks' or a month's worth) of these events to people on a distribution list. Recipients of the email can click icons beside the event descriptions to add events they're interested in to their Outlook calendars.   2. If you actually want the event detail view to open in a page on your site, you want to use the detailBase rather than the teaserBase property on the Main calendar spud. The teaserBase URL is more commonly used on Promotion spuds. So your spud code would like this using the detailBase and not teaserBase: <script type="text/javascript"> $Trumba.addSpud({ webName: "asingularcreation", spudType : "main", detailBase: "http://www.asingularcreation.com/Lists/art-contests.htm" }); </script> You use the detailBase property with a main spud to show event details in another main spud that's embedded in a separate page. NOTE: The teaserBase property works with promotion spuds and allows you to open the event details page from a link in the promotion spud on your own site rather than the Trumba hosted page. You might also want to use the openInNewWindow property to get the event detail to open on your site in a new window.   3. Two other calendar views, List and Table, now support images. These two views do allow you to set grouping and paging options, as you requested above. In the Publishing Control Panel, on the Calendar Spuds tab, add the List and/or Table calendar views and then click Edit Settings & Styles to display the image field and control the image size. For the Classic Table view you will first need to add in the Event Image field under the Display Settings area on the General Settings tab and determine the placement in order of preference. Trumba also supports the display of Inline Images, which are images you can embed in the Notes field and any other Multi-line text field that uses the HTML Editor (Trumba Connect accounts only). Inline images are supported in some calendar views (Classic Table and List view) as well as on the event detail view.
  4. Hi Michael. I believe you're asking for the announcement, reminder, and invitation email messages behave the same way as the calendar email messages and reflect the published calendar they originate from rather than the account. It's a good suggestion. I just talked with our developers and we're going to explore making that change. Let me know if I misunderstood what you're requesting. If everything looks like it will work fine and the change goes forward, we'll try to let you know when it's implemented. If you haven't heard anything in a while, please reply to this post. Thanks.   5. Hi Hilary. Let me repeat what you're asking just to make sure I'm understanding it correctly. You have a published calendar with festival dates on it for a year. The published calendar is in Month view. You want to add all of the festival dates for the year to your Microsoft Outlook calendar. So you're wondering if you can do that all at once or if you have to add each month separately. If that's a correct statement of your question, the answer is that you can add only one view's worth (in your case, a month) of events at a time to your Outlook calendar. However, there is another approach that will allow you to export all of the events to a file that you can then import into Outlook. Click the iCal link at the top right corner of the calendar to export the events to an .ics file. You can then import that .ics file into Outlook to add all of the festival dates at once. In Outlook, display your calendar. On the File menu, select Import and Export. In the Wizard, select Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar (.vcs) file. Locate the file and click OK. Decide whether you want to add the events to your current calendar or create a new calendar.   6. Here's a workaround you might use when you have events that do not have a specific start/end time. Set the event as an All Day event. Then no start or end time shows up. In the Description field of the event, add a note about the start time to let people know when it starts.
  7. If you publish calendars that site visitors often want to print, it's a good idea to set up a print view. Set-up options include adding a banner image to the top of print view, showing the calendar name in the header, and showing the print date/time in the footer. Here is a link to our Help topic on how to set up a print view that includes an image.
  8. When you type an address in the Location field and then select add map link, Trumba will remember this location. When you go to add a new event, or edit an existing event, you can select Recent Links to the right of the Location field. This will be a list of 50 of the most recently mapped locations. By selecting a location from this list will add in the address in the Location field and automatically map the location. You can remove any old or outdated map link by selecting the drop down and click the X next to the address.
  9. Hi Dinobrago, niskypto, and others. I have talked with the developers about this and we are going to make some changes to the time period options for calendar emails. The way it looks like it will work is that, in the future, if you choose 2 weeks worth of events, the email will include events that occur the day after your email is sent and then 2 full weeks from that day. I can't give any specifics about when the changes will be made but the problem is being addressed. Thanks for bringing it up. Connie
  10. Hi Dinobrago. You're right that this is definitely not an ideal solution if you publish your calendar in Week or Month view. The published calendar ends up starting on a day that is very weird for most calendar visitors. I have filed a bug on this. I think you're right that the events sent out should be the NEXT week or two week not the CURRENT week. I'm not sure what the result of this will be but I'll try to post what I hear here. Thanks.   11. You might also want to try using divs instead of a table to line up your spuds. For example to line up a main calendar spud and search spud, you might use two divs like this: <div style="width:160px;float:left"> <script type="text/javascript" src="//www.trumba.com/scripts/spuds.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $Trumba.addSpud({ webName: "yourcalendarswebname", spudType : "mix" }); </script> </div> <div style="width:160px;padding-left:180px;"> <script type="text/javascript" src="//www.trumba.com/scripts/spuds.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $Trumba.addSpud({ webName: "yourcalendarswebname", spudType : "searchlabeled" }); </script> </div> Where it says yourcalendarswebname just make sure your calendar's name is inserted. You don't have to stick with the exact width or padding amounts that I've added here but this gives you an idea of how you might set up the divs.
  12. You can only share Trumba calendars with other Trumba users whose email address is tied to a Trumba account. You are seeing Can view events as the only option because the person you're sharing with does not have a Trumba account. When you purchase a full Trumba subscription, you can also purchase additional editor accounts for a reduced monthly rate (see our Pricing page). When the person you want to share with has an account in place, you'll be able to see all sharing options.
  13. When you create a new calendar, we do not allow the calendar settings to be copied. However, if you plan to publish multiple calendars that share most of the same published settings and styles, you can copy these settings and styles from one publication to others. Here is a link to a help topic with more details.
  14. Hi Zahra and Caroline. Thanks for posting to the forums. I just published a password protected calendar and didn't have trouble signing in so password protection doesn't appear to be broken in general. I wonder if you could each send a note to support at corp.trumba.com and give us a little more information, such as your account email address and a link to your published calendar.   15. Hi dtsipian. We are in the near future. Actually, the ability to do more customization on your calendar and other spuds has been available in Beta for a couple of weeks (explained here). The features should go live as real non-Beta features later today. Connie
  16. Hi Roderick. Thanks for posting to the forums. If I'm understanding you correctly, you can do what you want by adding some arguments to the embedded code for the calendar. You can find a description of the arguments in How the spud code works and how to customize it. The spud code in the Help topic might look a little different from the code you're used to. We're switching to new (improved) code and it won't hurt to begin using the new code on pages on your site, even if other pages use the old code. (You can see how the new publishing model works by turning on Beta features for your published calendars. For more information, see How to enable your account to test beta features.) Here's an example of how your calendar spud code might look. In this example, you're embedding a calendar with the webname "ajenza" pre-filtered for events that are taught by a specific instructor (one of the values listed in an Instructor filter you created): <script type="text/javascript"> $Trumba.addSpud( { webName: "ajenza", spudType: "main", url: { filter1: "Master Wu"} }); </script> You can also use arguments to filter the events that display to events from one specific calendar that you have mixed in. You can learn more about the mix argument here. This topic describes URL parameters but you can also use the parameters as arguments in spud code, as the example above shows.   18. To change the label for the Calendar List Control Spud, select your published calendar in Trumba and select Publish>Control Spuds tab. Locate the Calendar List and select Edit Settings & Styles. You will now see the Label field where you can type in your own label or remove the existing label and leave it blank.

  20. Hi wyndwoman. Sorry you're having printing problems. We don't have great printing solutions for calendars at this moment. I don't think those are blank lines that you're seeing on the calendar. I think they are the event backgrounds but the color is white. For example, take a look at Monday and you can see that the gray events have text that is only one line long but the event background takes up two lines. As far as I know, there is no way to change the space that background occupies. I tried changing the template to Compact List, 3 Columns, List, etc. to see if any of the template displays would make it easier to fit the events on one page but those displays are actually worse in terms of taking up page space. Using Internet Explorer and a color printer, I was able to get the calendar onto one printed landscape page (couldn't get the same result with FireFox). The printer I used had a scale option and I scaled the calendar to 90%. Another possibility, if you have a screen capture program, is to take a capture of the calendar and then scale the resulting image and print it. I don't have any other great suggestions to offer. Jill, Anne, or Nancy please weigh in if you have a better suggestion. Connie
  21. Hi niskypto. Thanks for posting your question in the forums. It might help to know the exact settings that you have for your calendar email. Most likely, the problem is the day that you are sending the email message. For example, if your calendar is set so the first day is Sunday and you are sending out the calendar email on Thursday, the email will include events from Sunday through Thursday of the current week (past events to people who receive the email on Thursday). If you click Email above your calendar and then click Edit Schedule, you can see the day you set up the email to be sent. You can solve the problem by sending the email earlier in the week. If you don't want to change the day the calendar is sent, you can consider changing the first day of the week you have the calendar set for. If you click Settings above your calendar, under Display options, you can choose the first day of the week for the calendar. Set that to match the day you send out your calendar. If you try one of those things and it doesn't solve the problem, please let us know and give a list of the settings you use for your calendar email. Connie

Paste the code below above the script code for the date finder spud but replace yourcalendarwebname with the webname of your published calendar (the name you chose when you published the calendar). <script type="text/javascript">var trumba_teaserBase = "http://www.trumba.com/calendars/yourcalendarwebname";</script> When you click a date on the date finder spud, the calendar hosted on the Trumba website opens to the time period that contains the clicked date.   24. You can add a link to the event details for a specific event. On your published calendar, click an event title to open the event details page for that event. In the lower right corner on the event detail view click the Permalink and a small window will appear with the URL that you can copy.   25. Hi again Maren. There is no way from within Trumba to add custom headers and footers to a printed calendar. I guess if could create some custom headers and footers in Word or another Word processing program and print them onto pages and then print the calendar onto those pages, you might be able to create that type of thing yourself. I'm assuming you're printing from the published view of your calendar (rather than from the editing environment)? To print, did you click the Print link above the published calendar on the right? When you do, you get a new window with just the calendar in it (not all the spuds and stuff along the left side). When you print from that page, the calendar will fill the printed page, whether you choose landscape or portrait. Let me know if I didn't answer your question. Connie
