As an event planner I want to publish a calendar and somehow get a list of everyone who has added an event to their calendar. Ideally their name and email address so I can email and confirm their attendance.

 

Is this possible?

There isn't a way to do exactly what you are asking to do using Trumba OneCalendar.

 

When you publish your calendar using Trumba OneCalendar, you make your event information available to others on the web. Those who visit your published calendar might choose to print out the information, or add selected events to their calendar electronically or subscribe to the entire calendar of events. They also have the option to choose to set up event reminders.

 

If you, as the event organizer, need info from those who have an interest in your event, the only way I can think of accomplishing this is to use your notes field when you set up the event in OneCalendar to ask people for it. I've seen events that have a link to a registration form, for example. You might be able to set up something electronically (using services such as Evite or a web form that you develop) that might help you get close to what you are looking to accomplish.

 

If the events you organize have a common general theme, then perhaps using OneCalendar to email upcoming calendar of events periodically would be a way to proceed. Of course, requesting email addresses from interested people so you can email them takes some ongoing effort.

 

Hope this information is useful as you work through this issue. On a side note, we are aware that RSVP type functionality is something that a number of our current subscribers would like to see in OneCalendar.

One more thing that could be useful to know as an event planner....

 

Trumba OneCalendar does have a feature that allows others to join your event calendar distribution list electronically. Of course, this is not event by event.

 

Details on allowing others to add themselves to your distribution list are here: http://www.trumba.com/help/emailtome.html.

 

If you decide to try out this feature, you would need to first set up scheduled email updates for your calendar. For a test, you could add just one of your own email addresses on the distribution list for the scheduled mailing.
