Hi Trumba.

I'm curious to know if there is a way to make a responsive calendar spud that will auto-resize on responsive websites.

I read about the mobile list spud, but that seems to only be for mobile sites.

We currently do not offer this so we do recommend having a "mobile" site. We have included a mobile Table view spud which is a stripped down and simplified view of the Classic Table view that we have found works great for mobile devices that you could embed on a mobile site, so as a mobile device is detected hitting your site you can redirect them to the mobile site.

Kevin,

The HTML editor on the event submission form does not allow an image to be added, you will only be able to add images via the HTML editor within the Trumba account. The user can still add an image to your event submission form using the "Event Image" field. That image however cannot be linked.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks Steve. The documentation does say otherwise. I'm looking at http://www.trumba.com/help/submitevent/submitformedit.aspx , and the section titled : Content in Notes and other multi-line text fields

Here is a screen shot :) As you can see the "Insert picture" Icon is present. This would be fantastically helpful if this was available.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for pointing that out - it is a documentation error that is being fixed. Sorry for that confusion. The development team is considering adding this option, so will provide another update if/when that happens.

Thanks!

Steve

I understand the way it is set up now, and while it's a good option for people with mobile sites, it is no use for responsive sites. The future of web design is the use of responsive sites. Does Trumba have any plans to release a responsive calendar spud?

No plans to release a responsive calendar spud quite yet. In the mean time, within your own site you should be able to detect a mobile client (or a narrow window if you prefer) and switch the calendar view to the mobile table view in those cases. This could be done on the server where you detect the mobile client and then write out the appropriate javascript for the normal view or mobile table view.

The logic could also be performed via javascript within the browser. For example, if you had a true/false javascript variable named “isMobile”, you could use javascript code like below to conditionally load the appropriate view.

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.trumba.com/scripts/spuds.js"></script>

<script type="text/javascript">

var isMobile = true; // included for this example. You would use some other similar variable that already exists on your site.

$Trumba.addSpud({

webName: "trumbauevents",

spudType: "main",

url: { template: isMobile ? "mobiletable" : "table"} // use the template URL parameter to specify which view to load

});

</script>
