Browsing Published (Public) Calendars

Recommended Posts

There is a link to Searchable Public Calendars: http://www.trumba.com/calendars

Right now there are over 3500 calendars displayed 100 at a time. Wasn't there a way to search these calendars? Are we really exected to do a web (Google?) search for calendars? Web searches bring up so much #$!@#$ that it isn't feasible.

Aslo...how long does it take for a calendar to be searchabe once published?

Hi Summertop,

No, we haven't had a way to search the public calendars, except for a very brief time in very early beta stages. It's highly possible that you had an account during that phase, but it was taken out while we were still in early beta (it wasn't really complete) and I don't see it coming back. If you want to get better Google search results, try narrowing the search to the Trumba domain. Here's the how-to stolen from the Google Advanced Search Tips page:

Domain search

You can use Google to search only within one specific website by entering the search terms you're looking for, followed by the word "site" and a colon followed by the domain name.

For example, here's how you'd find admission information on the Stanford University site:

admission site:www.stanford.edu

Just use www.trumba.com for the domain. Once the calendar's published, we don't have control over the amount of time it takes for it to be searchable, so it all depends on the search engine. Based on my observations of this forum, Google seems to be pretty active, so I would speculate that a calendar would be indexed in Google pretty soon after it's published. I wouldn't be able to even guess a timeframe for other search engines, though.

Hope that helps a bit.
